Eric Horwitz '90CC

Eric Horwitz is the Founder and CEO of GEM (Gennex Management LLC), a coaching and development network dedicated to helping individuals and organizations design meaningful careers and fulfilling lives. Since founding GEM on February 5, 2005, Eric has worked with executives, entrepreneurs, professionals, and organizations to clarify their values, strengthen their networks, and create practical strategies for personal and professional growth.

With more than 20 years of coaching experience, Eric specializes in life and career planning, leadership development, and helping professionals navigate major transitions. His work focuses on helping individuals identify their strengths, understand what they truly want, and translate those insights into sustainable action.

Before launching GEM, Eric spent over a decade as a senior executive in the Human Resource Consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, advising organizations on leadership, strategy, and workforce development.

Eric graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics and later completed his coaching certification through Coach University. He has also served as Head Coach for the Columbia Career Coaches Network, helping develop the next generation of career and executive coaches.

Through GEM, Eric leads initiatives including private coaching, corporate leadership programs, the Treasure Chest community, and the Renaissance Academy, all designed to help individuals and organizations evolve and perform at a higher level.

He also created the GEM Compass App, a digital platform that helps people stay focused on their career journeys by setting goals, tracking progress, and engaging with a supportive community of others working toward meaningful growth.

Eric’s personal mission is to inspire himself and empower the willing—with truth and compassion—to achieve the best of what is possible.

On a lighter note, Eric’s entrepreneurial spirit began early. While a student at Columbia, he helped run the Hartley Kosher Deli through Columbia Student Enterprises—so if you ever waited too long for a knish, it might have been finals week and good help was hard to find.
